CHALLENGE:
In the light of covid-19, traditional brick universities are scrambling to adapt their courses for online learning. Establish the OU as the experts in the eyes of 18-21 year olds, with a legacy built on over 50 years of experience they can count on.
IDEA:
Distance has never stopped The Open University. In fact, they bring university to you, wherever you are. They’ve already connected thousands of students and tutors all over the UK, and the world. It’s what they do.
I wrote the scripts for both radio and Spotify, selecting the music bed for each mood. I wrote and art directed ‘Distance’ and ‘1 Ambition’ , storyboarding key scenes that would up-cycle campaign footage and augment key moments with stock footage. I worked remotely with editors.
RESULTS:
Student acquisitions went 15% above targets and the integrated campaign won Silver Best Customer Acquisition campaign at the DMA awards.
